We aim to cater for students of all experience levels. We vary the classes from term to term to give you the chance to particpate in a variety of courses designed to meet the interest of our students. If you have a project that you may wish to be taught, or are a group of Patchworkers, that would be like to taught a particular project, then please contact us and make arangements as we can offer this in store or we can travel to you.

CL0014 SCISSOR HOLDER AND KEEP Yvonne will teach you to make this beautiful needle worked keep and holder using Mono Canvas and DMC Stranded Cotton. You will be taught a variety of stitches, how to make these items, a tassel and a cord for attaching the keep to the scissors. This workshop will be run over two classes. CL0013 HARDANGER BAG Have you wanted to learn how to do Hardanger and have felt it is far to difficult and complicated? Let Yvonne teach you the techniques on this simple little jewellery bag. Once you have learnt the techniques and stitches used in Hardanger you will be able to make runners, wall hangings, cushions or other objects for your home. CL0012 Scissor Keep Make this delightful scissor keep to attach to your favourite scissors. This Scissor keep is made on Mono canvas and using DMC Pearle 8 floss. Yvonne will teach you a variety of stitches and then learn to embellish the finished work with some beads. You will learn how to make a tassel and a loop for attaching to your scissors. CL0011 MAGIC SQUARES SPECIAL Do you have a stash of 6” squares and odds and ends of batting? This class is great for making a variety of articles using magic squares. This is an ideal project to take travelling or to stitch together in front of the television. Once you have mastered these easy squares, then only your imagination limits what you can do with these squares. This workshop will be run over three classes with some homework in between. CL0010 AUSTRALIAN WILDFLOWER IN 3 D Using needle turn appliqué and embroidery create a block featuring Australian Wildflowers. The three demesnial effect and the methods can be used with many designs. The finished blocks would make a lovely cushion for a quilt or wall hanging. This workshop will be held of 3 classes with homework between each class. CL0009 EASY PEASY JAPANESEY A workshop to learn how to make tiny Japanese Kimonos and incorporate them into a small wallhanging or cushion. This workshop will combine techniques of folding and stitching with beading, embroidery and appliqué. This class will be held over two classes, with a little homework between. CL0008 TRIANGULAR LOG CABIN QUILT Make this Triangular log cabin quilt in your favourite colours. This is a different method of Log Cabin design and gives you a different looking quilt from the usual Log Cabin. All blocks once made interconnect with each other, and then you will learn how to make this border to finish the quilt. Make as many blocks as you like to make whatever size quilt you would like to have. This class will be held over three workshops with homework between classes. CL0007 STACK AND WACK QUILT To start the New Year we have been asked to refresh people's memories with the old Stack and Wack. This over the past couple of years has been a very popular quilt with the new patch worker or for the more experienced. You begin with a piece of fabric and stack the repeats and then cut so that a Kaleidoscope block appears when pieced together. You will make 18 blocks in total and each one will be different. You can choose in this class to make a quilt in three sizes. You choose. This quilt will be made over 2 lessons with homework between classes. CL0006 FREE MOTION QUILTING Would you like to learn how to do free motion quilting which would enable yourself to finish off your quilts in a more professional manner? In this class you will learn how to stipple and do free motion quilting using your machine and will learn the techniques that are used to make this just a simple task. All you have to bring to this class is your machine; quilting foot (darning or Pogo Foot on some machines). We will supply you with a kit to make things easier for yourselves. CL0005 SEW AND SHARE MORNING Come and enjoy the company of others and get to know people while you are sewing, embroidery or quilting any of your work? Want some help with unfinished works that you are doing? Not sure of how something is done? Then this is the place you should come to. We are all here to help and teach each other as well as make friends. You can come along and finish those UFOs that you have stacked up. Class: 1st Wednesday every Month. 4th March, 1st April, 6th May, 3rd June Time: 10.00 am – 12.30 pm Cost: $2.50 to cover morning tea. $2.50 / for cuppa
CL0004 SIMPLY TRIANGLES Do you want to learn patchwork or a seasoned patch worker, but want something simple and elegant to make. Then try this quilt. It is made using two half square triangles in two colour shades of your choice. These two half square triangles are then joined in groups of four to form a unit which is then placed together to form this great quilt. You can make this quilt in whatever size you wish from a lap quilt to king. The choice is yours. CL0003 FLORAL LOG CABIN QUILT Would you like to make this beautiful lap quilt in a log cabin design to either use as a quilt to snuggle under or as a wall hanging to take pride of place in your home? This quilt is using the old favourite technique of Log Cabin but with the added feature of an appliqué border in a floral design and vine motif with a bird. If you wish you may build on this quilt and make this the centre of a much larger quilt repeating the blocks that you have already learnt to sew. This class will be held over three lessons, with homework. 3 Classes : Monday 11th May, 18th May, Finish 25th May Time: 10.00 am – 12.30 pm morning tea provided. $45.00 / PLUS pattern
CL0002 QUILTED OVERNIGHT BAG Have you a trip coming up or just need a utility bag, or maybe you are having a new grandchild? Then this lovely bag may be just what you need. It is made from 100% cotton fabric with a lining and is quilted. You may use the fabric of your choice to make this bag for any occasion or use. This bag will be fully finished in the one class if you are doing the day class or two classes if you do the night class. See the sample and you will love the bag. There will be no cost for this class but you will have to buy a kit from us which contains everything for this workshop and is all pre cut and marked ready for you to just begin sewing when you arrive at class. CL0001 Cushions Galore Do you want to make some beautiful cushions for your home but you do not want to spend a fortune. Then come and learn how to make these cushions using the Foundation Piecing method of construction. This course will have no charge for the class except you will have to purchase a kit and add a quarter ruler from us. The kit will be all cut for you to begin immediately sewing the blocks. The kit will also have a zipper and piping cord, cushion insert, and backing to finish in class so if you're not sure on doing these things as well you will learn that technique as well. They will make great present for anyone. This is a one day workshop and you will finish the Cushion before you go home.
